Take action

The ISM works hard to support our members and campaign for the music sector, but we are stronger when we act together. We're asking you to take action, using our resources and advice below.

Writing to your local elected representatives is a great way for them to hear about your concerns and take steps to support you. We have put together template letters on a range of issues, which you can use and adapt for your own purposes.
We produce in-depth research and policy recommendations, grounded in survey work and extensive engagement with the sector. We use our reports to lobby government and MPs, but we also encourage our members to read and share our material, so together we can lead and shape the debate.
Thousands of our members are active in their musical communities and connect with their fellow members and musicians from across the country. Visit our Facebook page for insightful conversations and the latest updates from the grassroots.
Join a national network of almost 11,000 professional musicians who are supported, protected and represented by the ISM - the UK's professional body for musicians. We are working hard for our members and the sector as we try to navigate the challenges posed by COVID-19.
