Sara Mohr-Pietsch, Radio 3


Sara Mohr-Pietsch is a music broadcaster best known for her work on BBC Radio 3, where she presents Music Matters, Choir and Organ and live concerts from Wigmore Hall. She is the creator of Radio 3’s new music showcase Open Ear, which made its BBC Proms debut at Tate Modern in 2017, and which she continues to host at LSO St Luke’s. She also presents the BBC Proms on BBC Four television and Radio 3.

Born in London in 1980, Sara studied music at Cambridge and Edinburgh universities. She has worked for the BBC Proms, Edinburgh International Festival and Berlin Philharmonic. After winning a BBC Talent competition, Sara joined BBC Radio 3 in 2005, and went on to present the Breakfast show for 7 years.

Alongside her broadcasting work, Sara has written for The Guardian and BBC Music Magazine, created podcasts for Sinfini, and hosted pre-concert talks and events for major music festivals and organisations including The Royal Opera and Southbank Centre. Her voice is also heard on audio guides for galleries including Tate Modern and the Royal Academy of Arts.
