Opportunities and resources for performers

This resource is a non-exhaustive list of opportunities, networks, venues, ensembles, record labels and events which may wish to engage performers in commissions or partnership work. It is designed to serve as a starting point. Building relationships with those within the industry is equally important.We have also included some ISM resources to help you further.

Opera North: Resonance residencies

Opera North, supported by PRS Foundation, has opened applications for next spring’s Resonance programme. Resonance is Opera North’s workshop programme for Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic professional musicians and composers, based in the north of England, and offers the opportunity to develop new ideas and collaborate with performers from other disciplines.

NYCGB Fellowship 2021 Programme

Applications are now open for The National Youth Choirs of Great Britain (NYCGB) Fellowship 2021 Programme. The programme offers four choral leaders (aged 20-27) an year of development from January 2021 – January 2022 and invites applications from choral musicians who want to develop their skills as performers, educators, leaders and professionals.

ACM scholarships

ACM launches two new scholarships, from Sylvia Massy and The Eighth Day, to it's annual scholarships programme.

Tipping Point: Songwriting Residency

Tipping Point has announced a songwriting residency for emerging artists and music creators aged between 18-25 across the North East. The residency aims to develop 12 artists’ songwriting skills and professional practices.

Listen Imagine Compose

Listen Imagine Compose are offering a Masters in Teaching and Learning, as part of their CPD programme for secondary music teachers. The course is designed to develop skills in teaching composing with KS3, KS4 and KS5 students.



Snape Residencies

Applications are open four times are year for the Snape Residency programme. The programme is open to artists at any stage of their career.

ReBalance

ReBalance is a pioneering three year programme, which will provide one week’s studio recording time to a core female band, female musician or female solo artist each month in 2019 and 2020.

Live Music Now

Live Music Now are recruiting new musicians. They offer training and paid performances to musicians at the start of their professional career, working with diverse audiences who do not normally have access to high quality live music.
