Representatives of leading music education sector organisations write joint letter to Education Secretary and Minister for Schools

On Wednesday 4 November 2020, the ISM, Music Mark, Music Teachers' Association and the Musicians' Union wrote a joint letter to the Secretary of State for Education, Gavin Williamson and Minister for Schools, Nick Gibb.

The letter urgently seeks clarification that Music Education Hubs, Local Authorities and private instrumental teachers are permitted to continue to provide teaching before or after standard school hours within reason and that the guidance regarding national restrictions does not apply for instrumental music lessons which take place on school premises.

We are awaiting a response which we will share with our members.
