ISM at Music Education Expo
Music Education Expo is a new two-day exhibition and professional development conference for everyone involved in music education. Now in its second year, the event promises to provide attendees with a host of effective teaching ideas, introduce them to the latest developments in music education and give them access to influential speakers from the world of music education. This year Music Education Expo will take place from Friday 7 - Saturday 8 February at the Barbican Centre in London.
It is free to attend Music Education Expo and you can register for your free place by visiting the Music Education Expo website.
We are very proud to be Conference Sponsor for Music Education Expo for the second year. This means that ISM is supporting all of the professional development activity for teachers attending Expo - every seminar, workshop and keynote speech. View this year's conference programme.
We're also leading two of the seminars ourselves. David Abrahams, our Head of Legal, will present Legal matters: teachers’ rights and responsibilities - shedding light on critical issues that all teachers should be aware of. Caroline Aldred, our Business Support Officer, will present Setting your tuition fees: ISM’s benchmarking survey.
Several of our members will also be leading sessions at the Expo, including leading educationalist Paul Harris who will be introducing his ‘Simultaneous Practice Cycle’, ISM President and music education consultant Richard Hallam who will be chairing the lunchtime debate on the future of GCSEs, Managing Director of Sound Futures Ltd David Barnard who will be holding a session on mastering the art of looping, and Director of Development for the Voices Foundation Sally Cathcart who will be leading a practical workshop for instrumental teachers.
Members of our staff team will be on hand throughout the two-day event to answer any questions you may have about becoming an ISM member or, if you're already a member, they'll be pleased to chat to you about how you can get the most out of your membership. Come and visit us at Stand E1, the first stand you come to as you walk through the entrance door!
It's absolutely free to attend Expo, and there is undoubtedly something for everyone involved in music education. Register for your free place.
