An important message to our members
In the unprecedented times of COVID-19, the ISM community becomes more important than ever. Supporting each other is vital. We know that some of you, particularly those who are self-employed, are really struggling with work being cancelled overnight. So, we have been thinking hard about how we can help you.
We are writing to all members due to make a subscription payment imminently to offer a three month postponement on their scheduled payment(s) to those finding it hard to manage financially due to the COVID-19 outbreak. Details on how to organise this will be in the email or letter we send you. Please note that if you contact us after your Direct Debit has been taken, your payment will be reimbursed.
If you are able to pay for your membership then please do so, so you can help the ISM help other ISM members who just do not have the funds to pay their subscription at the moment.
Our ISM community is a powerful voice for music. We are lobbying government daily to put in place a package of measures to support freelance and self-employed musicians. Watch out for our daily updates on COVID-19 which will bring you up to date advice on how it affects your work as a musician. And if you have the time help us lobby your MP to get the Government to urgently act and put in place an emergency fund for freelancers.
Since the outbreak of COVID-19 intensified, we have put in place additional resources to answer your questions and concerns. We have expanded our legal services and we have more staff working on advice and resources so that we can give you the very best service we can in these uncertain times.
We have several other services you can access. With the Chancellor’s announcements of various fiscal measures to support workers, it is vital you take advantage of our accountancy and tax services so you can make the most of the support announced for the self-employed.
Please also don’t forget our 24-hr personal support line and associated counselling services which are delivered by the ISM Members Fund.
If you have any questions about your membership, including a postponement on your membership payment as outlined above, please call our dedicated membership team on 020 7221 3499 or email [email protected] as soon as possible and no later than Monday 6 April 2020.
