Lobbying - be part of a strong voice for musicians

We actively lobby record labels, publishers, employers and Government on behalf of our members on a wide range of issues including music education, arts funding, performers' and composers' rights, live music, tax, transportation of instruments, copyright and more.

We listen to the concerns of our members from across the music education and music sectors to make sure we are representing their views. We are independent of Government and are not financially dependent on any third-party, which gives us a unique position from which to put forward our members' views. 'Well, they did it. The combined fury of 134 music organisations led by the Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), has saved music education from the full force of cuts being imposed by a cash-starved Government.'

Ivan Hewett, The Telegraph.
