Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme

Benslow Music Instrument Loan Scheme is a not for profit charity that lends instruments to young musicians aged between 7 and 25. Provided that they have been learning for 2 years we welcome applications from students in full time education who are domiciled in the UK and who have a passion for music and for their instrument. Graded exam level is unimportant; our aim is to inspire and enable these young musicians from all walks of life to practise and improve by lending them a high-quality instrument appropriate to their level of playing. They can borrow the instrument for a minimum of 3 years and upgrade in size and quality as they grow and improve their technique. We have bursaries to help those on lower incomes. The large collection of instruments is mostly stringed, with a few harps and some woodwind. Many are owned by us, others donated or lent to us. We are funded only by generous donors and supporters. We welcome donations of instruments as well as financial support. Our premises are based at Benslow Music in Hitchin, Hertfordshire, within easy reach of London and major rail stations, but we lend across the UK.
