Brexit: what it means for you
On 24 December 2020, the UK and EU agreed a new Trade and Cooperation Agreement to govern the future trading and security relationship now that the UK has left the EU. On 30 December, a bill bringing the trade deal into UK law was backed by the Commons by 521 to 73 votes after Parliament was recalled. At 11pm on 31 December, the UK formally left the European Union (EU), four and a half years after the Brexit referendum.
There are now additional barriers to both European and British citizens on visits, work, and settlement. Our resources will help to assist you navigate these changes and the ISM is continuing to call on the UK Government to take the necessary steps to ensure UK musicians can continue to travel easily in the EU for work after Brexit.
