Proud to Perform: Young brass band perform for commuters

The winners of a fully-funded music tour to Paris, Southwark Children’s Brass Band, gave a wonderful concert to commuters at London Bridge Station this Christmas.

The band will enjoy a short tour to Paris this summer, which is being organised and funded by Club Europe Concert Tours, who have set up a Proud to Perform initiative which gives musical opportunities to disadvantaged music groups. For many of the band, this will be their first trip abroad.

At the concert, part of a series of special Christmas performances, the band played a mixture of carols and Christmas songs to the delight of passing Londoners.

'It was lovely to hear the band perform again,” said Senior Concert Account Manager and Proud to Perform organiser Hannah Bastick. 'Since winning the award, the band have really grown musically and they have lots of new members too, which is great.

'They’re all so excited about their tour to Paris next summer.'
