Is our ending your beginning?
G'day, Doug Williams here, from Upstage Productions.
It's not too early in the school year to be thinking about your students performing an original, comical, marvellous musical production. Others are not only thinking about it, they're treading the boards right now! St. Therese's School, Bentley Park, in waaaay far north Queensland is one example.
In Australia, as I write, it's the last fortnight of Term 3. We have fours terms and complete the school year in summer, a few days before Christmas. So what's happening at our end of the year now could be the beginning of your planning now, so that by your next summer your students will have had the fantastic, memorable and sometimes life-changing experience of performing in their first Upstage Production.
'Research into music education has found that learning music facilitates learning in other subjects and enhances skills that children use in other areas. Musical training physically develops the part of the left side of the brain known to be involved with processing language, and can actually wire the brain’s circuits in specific ways.'
'We have only two weeks to go before the big night!! The children have been doing a great job learning their lines, singing the songs and learning their dance moves. I know that you will be very impressed with their excellent performances.'
In all we have six musicals to choose from:
All have happy endings where the good guys win:
- all full of humour
- all flowing over with singable songs in a range of musical stylesall offering opportunity for every student to succeed as a lead, support actor, chorus singer, dancer, set builder, back stage worker, apprentice sound engineer, assistant advertising manager or...
We supply all productions needs through the Internet, so we are actually not waaaay far away. A few emails, a bit of credit card payment and Bob's your uncle, you start your download.Find out more at our web site: www.upstageproductions.com.au
