The ISM 24-hour Counselling Helpline number is changing to
0117 934 0185
from 1 October 2007
The ISM 24-hour Counselling Helpline is a free service which is available to all ISM members and their families. It offers immediate and round-the-clock access to professional counsellors for 24 hours a day, 365 days of the year.
Members can find immediate advice and support to deal with any personal problems and issues, even those of a sensitive nature, at the end of a phone line at any time. Whether it is a case of relationship problems at home or in the workplace, bereavement stress or anxieties associated with illness or other personal issues, the Helpline counsellors are there to lend a sympathetic ear, offer advice and point to other sources of help. They can help identify actions to be taken and restore callers’ peace of mind.
This is a wholly confidential service provided by an outside company. From 1 October, it will be run by the DAS Group. DAS will not pass on to the Society, or any other third party, either the names of callers to the Helpline or details of the subject matter of calls.
Members should continue to use the Helpline phone number printed on their 2006-07 membership cards up to 30 September. The new phone number, effective from 1 October, will be printed on membership cards for 2007-08, which can be kept in wallets or purses for ease of access.
The Counselling Helpline is paid for by the ISM Members Fund (the working name of the ‘Benevolent Fund of the Incorporated Society of Musicians’, registered charity 206801). Donations to the Members Fund are always welcome to provide the resources needed to cover the cost of this service, as well as the Fund’s work in providing financial support to members in need.
