> Guitar France 2009 will be held in Bagnoles de l’Orne, Normandy from 5–10 August. The course is led by ISM members Gary Ryan (Course Director) and Craig Ogden, and is intended for intermediate to advanced players. The main focus is on performance with a range of activities including individual tuition and masterclasses giving expert advice on performance, interpretation, technical development and practice. A highlight of the course is the student concert which is held in Bagnoles and is open to the public.

> The 18th East Anglia Summer Music School for adult solo singers and piano accompanists will be held in the School of Music at the University of East Anglia on 14–16 and 21–23 August 2009. The teachers at the first weekend will include Angela Bostock, Anthony Roden and Jeffrey Davies, and at the second weekend Betty Roe, Mark Wildman and Michael Pilkington. Adult singing students can chose their own repertoire (English, German, French or other song, opera, operetta, oratorio or music theatre) to sing in workshops and masterclasses. Classes for piano accompanists and some individual tuition are provided.

> A Kodály Early Years Workshop is being held in Rochdale Music Centre on Sunday 13 September, 10.15-15.00, by early childhood music specialist, Zoe Greenhalgh in association with the British Kodály Academy. Key areas covered are the development of knowledge and skills in understanding the planning, structure and delivery of music sessions; selecting suitable songs and rhymes and using them appropriately for different ages; a better understanding of the use of singing games and rhymes to support both musical and holistic development.
