MEDIA RELEASE: A Welcome in the Hillside - ISM Annual Conference 2006
The ISM will be holding its 2006 annual conference in Brecon, Powys, from Tuesday 18 April to Friday 21 April. The conference will be chaired by the Society's outgoing President, Robert Lloyd CBE, and is entitled 'A Welcome in the Hillside'. Read this as a PDF or as text.

Annual Conference 2006 - A Welcome in the Hillside - Brecon
This year's annual conference will be chaired by Robert Lloyd, the ISM's President for 2005-06. It will run from Tuesday 18 to Friday 21 April, and will be held at the Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon, with accommodation and the annual dinner in the town's Castle Hotel, about half a mile's walk through the town from the Theatr. Members in Need
In recent months, the ISM Members Fund has been giving record amounts of financial assistance to members in need: often, because they have been unable to work for a long period through illness or injury. This can quickly lead to financial problems, particularly among self-employed musicians. The ISM Members Fund, a registered charity, offers members grants to give them a breathing space: this reduces their financial worries, lessens pressure on them to return to work prematurely, and enables them to focus on recovering their full health. more...

Vignoles For President
At its meeting on 3 December last, the ISM Council voted unanimously to appoint Roger Vignoles, the distinguished pianist and accompanist, as President of the ISM for 2007-08. Roger will therefore become President Elect at the annual conference in Brecon this April, when Colin Bradbury takes over the Presidency for 2006-07 from Robert Lloyd. more...
