The Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards for outstanding achievement in 2011 were presented at the Dorchester hotel on the evening of 8 May 2012.
Arts Council England announced grants for 122 Music Education Hubs today. The ISM welcomed the announcement of the funding for the Hubs which will form part of the National Plan for Music Education in England.
Following the news that some musicians are being asked to perform for free at the London Olympics, and that many performances will be pre-recorded and not live, the ISM has written to the Secretary of State for Culture, the Olympics, Media and Sport, the Chair of LOCOG, and the Chair of the Cultural Olympiad Board.
The Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM), a first-time sponsor of the RPS Music Awards, is proud to announce the shortlist in the Opera and Music Theatre category.
The Live Music Act will officially come into law on October 1 2012. As a result, in England and Wales, performances of live amplified music to audiences of less than 200 people between the hours of 8am-11pm will no longer require a special licence and local authority permission.
The Incorporated Society of Musicians (ISM) has announced that it is to become a new sponsor of the Royal Philharmonic Society Music Awards. This is the first time that the ISM, the professional association for musicians, has sponsored an RPS Music Award. The ISM’s sponsorship is for the Opera and Music Theatre category.
