The ISM Composers Survey 2012 has just been launched to help us take forward your views and to gather further details about which issues should be targeted.
We are calling on ISM members who are composers and indeed composers generally to contribute your views and personal experiences to the full survey which looks at how the composer community could be better supported. We are also seeking your thoughts on commissioning, intellectual property and other issues relevant to composers.
Many ISM composer members recently signed an open letter to Sound and Music (SAM) about their current music policy. We are aware of the urgent need to address this situation, provide a collective voice for the composer community and represent our members at the highest levels and we have included a section on SAM in the composers survey.
The more views we have the better we can represent the issues that affect you in relation to Sound and Music and advocate for better support for composers.
More information can be found in the open letter to Sound and Music, Sound and Music's response to the open letter and a comment piece by Colin Matthews which you can read here.Return to previous page
