Join ISM
The ISM is the UK’s body for music professionals. We promote the art of music and the interests of all those working within the music sector through our campaigns, support and practical advice.
Our members include performers, composers, private and classroom music teachers, music therapists, academics, advisers, music managers and administrators. We also have other levels of membership for students and music professionals who are just starting out in the sector as well as bodies such as schools, conservatoires and orchestras and those who simply want to support our work as advocates of music.
Full
£150 per year
Full membership offers all professionals working in music our complete range of services and benefits. You can get individual advice and representation from our in-house legal team, comprehensive insurance cover, access to our 24-hour legal, tax and counselling helplines. We also provide advice, local and national events and our monthly magazine, Music Journal.
Graduate
£60 for your first year
If you join as a full member within ten years of graduating from your first music degree or diploma, we’ll give you our special introductory graduate rate which applies for three years and starts at just £60 for your first full year. You’ll get access to all of our professional services and benefits at a hugely reduced price.
Associate
£75 per year
People who support our work on behalf of music and musicians can join us as associate members. This gives you a link with the music profession through our monthly magazine, Music Journal, and our regular professional development, networking and social events as well as our full range of discounts. Associate members include music lovers, advocates and keen amateur musicians.
Student
£12 per year
Students can join the ISM for only £1 a month and we’ll give the same insurance, professional support and legal help as full members. You can come along to our professional development and networking events too, as well as benefitting from our range of discounts at music stores, performances and on venue hire plus much more...
