ISM members who work as private music teachers can apply for ISM Approved Private Teacher status. Teachers with ISM Approved Private Teacher status will be listed as such on our Music Directory and will be given a certificate of their status. For this you will be asked to:
- provide details of a student (if over 18) or parent or guardian of a student who will act as a referee
- obtain a CRB Enhanced Disclosure through the ISM to specifically apply to your self employed music teaching. This is to be obtained every 3 years to maintain your Approved Private Teacher status
- sign a past convictions declaration and child protection declarations
- sign to say you agree to adhere to the ISM Code of Practice for Private Music Teachers, the ISM Child Protection Policy and the ISM Code of Ethics
