For music students, ISM membership is undoubtedly the best way to keep up-to-date with developments in the profession you will be joining. We realise that Students will not necessarily want to become Full members until they graduate, and many of the benefits of Full membership will not be needed by most students. Therefore Student membership is an extremely cost effective way for you to join the ISM and receive the benefits that you require at this stage of your career.

ISM student members receive Music Journal free every month; copies of other publications at membership rates (generally free); careers advice; listings in our Yearbook; members’ discounts on seminars and conferences; discounts on sheet music, musical instruments, insurance, and software; networking opportunities at regional Centre events; and information on musical matters. All this costs just £25 a year.

Furthermore, when the time comes for you to launch your professional career, your Student membership will entitle you to a special Transitional subscription rate, giving you two years of ISM Full membership for just half the normal price - exactly when you need the comprehensive back-up which only the ISM can provide.

As the UK’s professional body for all musicians – whether performers, conductors, composers or teachers – we offer complete support to our members at every stage in their careers.
