As the UK’s professional body for musicians, we have three prime objectives: to represent and protect the interests of everyone who works with music; to raise practical and ethical standards within the profession; and to provide our members with the best possible range and quality of advice and benefits. Our work therefore goes deeper and wider than that of trade unions or single-interest musical associations. We aim to maintain the highest levels of professionalism, both in the services we provide for our subscribers, and in our members’ own dealings with their clients.

ISM Full membership provides complete professional support for all musicians throughout their careers - whether they are solo, ensemble or orchestral performers; private, classroom or peripatetic teachers; college, conservatoire or university lecturers; organists, composers or arrangers.

Membership costs less than £12 a month; and the subscription can be paid in monthly instalments. Full membership offers excellent value to professional musicians – it is far more than simply an insurance scheme! If you ever meet with problems in your career, or need other expert advice, you can be sure that we will be here to help.
